Bonsai Basics I
This is a beginner level workshop where each participant will learn all of the steps to transform a juniper garden shrub into a bonsai tree. We will cover design, training through pruning and wiring, watering, feeding, sun requirements and seasonal care- including winter care.
Note: Juniper is an outdoor tree which needs winter dormancy to thrive, making this an ideal outdoor bonsai.
Includes juniper tree and materials. Tools will also be available to use.
Bonsai Basics II
This is a beginner level workshop however, Bonsai Basics I or some previous experience with bonsai and wiring in particular is recommended to get the most from this class. We will dive deeper into design and wiring as a focus and we will be working with a larger juniper. We will cover design, wiring, pruning, water and sun requirements, feeding and seasonal care- including winter care.
Includes juniper tree and materials. Tools will be available for use.
B.Y.O.BONSAI
This is a bring your own bonsai workshop where Steven will help with any seasonal appropriate techniques or design guidance to help take your tree(s) to the next level. Some tools will be available to borrow but please contact Steven ( info@heartwoodbonsai.com) if any materials are needed or if you are unsure about seasonal timing of desired techniques. Steven will also have some trees available to work on as well as some for sale.
